Subjects Splashing into Water !

Based on requests I would like to share this technique and I am sure it is so common and I would like to make it so simple.

Firstly, the essential tools & objects should be available with you to achieve this:

-DSLR Camera
-CameraTripod
-Wireless Trigger (I used Giga T Pro ll Wirelss Timer Remote)
-Speedlight Flash
-Flash Tripod or you can attach it on any thing you see it comfortable
-Wireless Remote as a Trigger
-Glass of Water (filled with just two thirds of water)
-White paper A3 size will be preferable or attaching two A4 size papers (As background)
-Any subject to be splashed into Water (In this workshop I used "Strawberry" as an example)

............Now you are ready to start!

Now place the glass of water on the white paper background (white paper background should be in curve shape to get the most light reflection from the Flash).

Adjust your Camera on the Tripod as shown in below picture and positioning your Speedlight Flash above the glass of water and to be directed to the white paper.

Use the below settings (for Camera & Speedlight Flash) to get the most accurate bright and still picture:

Camera:
Aperture: F4.0
Speed Shutter: 1/160
ISO: Keep it as low as you can

Speedlight Flash:
Manual Mode
Flash exposure: 1/32

Now it is the time to set the Focus point:

Aim your focus on the wanted object and after locking-up make sure to switch the focus mode into Manual focus mode, so after all you don't need the auto-focus keep on going while dropping the object!!

You are so close now to get the shot, make sure your Wireless or strobe trigger is attached probably for testing.

All you need now to try couple of shots while dropping the object. You may try a lot but at the end you will be satisfied with at least one or two shots !!!

HERE IS A FINAL RESULT DOWN, but still you need one more thing to do it in photoshop (removing the edges of the glass):

 (Before removing the glass edges)
(Final result: After removing and erasing the glass edges!)

I hope you enjoyed this workshop and please after implementing this share it with others !!! :)

قاعدة الثُلث (The Rule of Thirds)

التصوير الفوتوغرافي

قاعدة الثُلث
The Rule of Thirds
